Yeah, it seems that movie prices have risen faster than a lot of other things...I remember in high school, a matinee went from a buck to a buck and a quarter at about the same time gas prices rose from 59 cents to 99 cents. If I bought a paperback book that the movie was based on, it was around $2.95. But today, gas is $3.30ish, a peperback book is $9.95 and a matinee is $7. And that's just a regular movie, not IMAX or 3D.
So I wait for a lot of stuff to show up on TV and I don't see as many movies as I'd like to. I bring my own munchies, and when I do go to a show (maybe 3 times a year), it's really a treat.
