Was that my second bag or my third? Second, but there *will* be a third. The barricade in front of my bedroom closet has gone from hip-deep to knee-deep and it's finally down to ankle-deep. No, damn it, I'm NOT exaggerating. But there's nothing under the bottom row of clothes, and I'm pretty sure one more bag in the bedroom will take care of the worst of it.
At this point, I've unearthed two hammered aluminum trays and a cookie sheet---I can only conclude, since the cookie sheet was in an upper strata, that I grabbed it because I couldn't find a tray when I needed one. Also a butter knife, an iced tea spoon, an entire egg carton's worth of hangers, most of another egg carton of aluminum cans (bearing in mind that I just recycled 43.5 pounds of cans LAST WEEK), several pairs of shoes, two pairs of panties and a Santa hat with leopard-fur trim.
I have not done laundry today, but at least with all the hangers I've unearthed, I can hang some of the stuff that's piled on top of the dryer. Now that I can get to my closet, I can also get to the drawers where my underwear is supposed to live.
Possibly, maybe, fingers crossed, I *might* have a visit from ThunderBunny tomorrow. TBunny is one of those full-tilt organizational geniuses, like GK, excellent at looking at what I consider to be a hopeless situation and going, "Okay, here's what we do first--". She's very chipper and positive about it all, and I know for a fact that if she shows up, more will get done in three hours than I'd get done single-handedly in a week.
A side benefit: She has a truck, so we can haul boxes of stuff to the thrift store...easier than trying to pack it in my subcompact and unpack when I get there, although not as bad as 43.5 pounds of cans! Everything goes faster with another pair of hands!
I'm now going to pray that TBunny's visit comes to pass.
Dinner sounds good.
I'll say grace, too.
