Roddy McDowell! Yes yes yes--I had a major crush on him, too, (and Vincent Price, of course) as Batman villains. And I may have reenacted some Planet of the Apes, too, with my Barbies, Breyer horses and a souvenir model of the Statue of Liberty.... I remember wanting to be Catwoman--ah, Julie Newmar!--or Batgirl and being miffed because my mom wouldn't get me a red wig!
I read through the rest of my long-lost tale the other night...I did *not* remember how I wrapped it up; it was fairly ingenious and made sense, so I feel somewhat vindicated. On the whole, the plotting was decent, the characterization was passable--it was the tone that was off. Call it a C+, maybe a B-. Room for improvement, but not absolutely awful.
