I love plaid flannel shirts, too! I sewed myself one in high school of beautiful green, blue and white plaid (inspired by an identical one worn by Warren Beatty in a movie) and wore it until it literally wore out - developed large holes -- some time after college. And I actually have worn a hat to church, a little straw cloche with the cutest tiny blue gingham bow.
