Formal dining...not
After donating a jumbo trash bag full of grocery bags yesterday, you'd think my living area would be free of random grocery bags, wouldn't you?
Oh, no. Not hardly. I've already got three grocery bags crammed with other grocery bags, just from trying to excavate the dining room table.
My goal is to be able to sit at the table to consume my Thanksgiving dinner. I've managed thus far to liberate a chair, which is good, since it will enable the "sitting" part of the plan. The table is still being deconstructed. I had the whole room completely pristine when GK came down in the spring of last year...she "helped" me organize my kitchen, and it hasn't been right since.
In addition to the bags, a lot of the impedementia has been laundry---clean laundry---mostly towels and linens from my last great laundry room push about a year ago. (Now, it's burying the wicker chair in the living room.)
However, I've found a good home for some of my outgrown wardrobe! There's a woman who's been attending church for the last few months who seemed to be my former size, and when I asked (as tactfully as possible) what size she was, and whether she'd be interested in an assortment of clothes in that size, she said yes. So I'll be sorting through the heaps and passing some of it her way, and the rest to the Sharing Center, etc.
That just leaves the other heaps of stuff, but a lot of that can be donated as well. I am trying to keep in mind a saying I've heard, which is "When your hand is open to give, it is open to receive." I can give away an awful lot!
Blessed be!
