Wrapping up 2013
LJ has been rather sketchy today; I couldn't get it to load til this evening, when I discovered some lovely anonymous person has renewed my Paid Account. Thank you SO much, whoever you are!
It's been a busy day; I've been up and going since 9:30. I've done a sinkful of dishes, because no way am I going to start the new year with a dreadful kitchen. I have one load of laundry (lights) currently in the dryer, while another one (darks) is in the washer. I intend to start the new year with fresh bedding, thanks.
GK's box arrived. It was wrapped with metallic reptile-print paper; I spent ten minutes with a Cutco steak knife trying to get it off with as little damage as possible so I can reuse it. I was thrilled to open it and find a dark denim skirt (although it proved to be a skort, size 26, yay!). There was also a black skirt, size 22/24--it fits! and a really interesting ruffly shirt? jacket? lab coat? IDEK, but I'm looking forward to the next cool day so I can wear it.
Enclosed in the card was a little something that solved the problem of my light bill; I paired the skort with a navy and white blose and ran out to take care of that. It took me longer to find a copy of said light bill than actually paying it did...New Year's resolution: To keep all my bills in one place. That's all.
My plans for the rest of the evening call for finishing up the laundry, remaking my bed while watching Hawaii 5-O, taking a shower, then crawling into said bed and sleeping as best I can while the neighborhood artillery bombardment goes on.
I never did get my Yuletide recs posted...oh, well....
I wish you all a wonderful 2013!

I'm having a lazy day: the house is clean, we have yummy leftovers, and there's not enough laundry to bother with today. So I've been pampering Rocket Dog by putting a folded sheet down in the kitchen floor so he can lie down comfortably while "guarding" me. He's ever-vigilant, my sweet old boy.

The only productive thing I've done today was to reply to comments on my Yuletide story. Last night's frozen pizza has not been agreeing with me!

Your poor tummy's been touchy these days. Hope you feel better tomorrow. *hugs*
