I don't agree with everything he believes, but this, yes:
From a news story about the activities of Pope Francis I:
Alessandro Forlani, a visually impaired journalist for Italian RAI radio, approached the pope with his seeing eye dog Asia.
"He has a special relationship with creation in the spirit of St. Francis," Forlani said afterward. "I asked for a blessing for my wife and daughter at home. He added 'a blessing for the dog too' and bent down to bless it."

Pope Francis seems to bring a simple, honest, and caring spirit to the Catholic church. I hope he can maintain it in the presence of all that pomp and splendor. After all the scandals and hypocracy of the last several years, an honest and kind heart is desperately needed -- not only for the Vatican, but as an example to the world.
