Howdy, strrangers

I kmow, it’s been ages.I had a stroke last year and am confined to bed in a nursing home. My trailer is gone, because this dump is so expensivei. I’m in a room with two other women, one of whom is crazy; she is prone to screaming monologues, or worse, dialogues in which she has both parts.

I will spare you the details,just wanted to let you know I’m technically still alive.

Holy moly! I'm so sorry! ::hugs:: I wondered where you'd gotten off to, but was hoping for something more along the lines of you moved to Bora Bora. Is the nursing home a permanent thing?

Yes, it’s permu. When I got here, I naively assumed that I’d get therapy for as long as I needed it. Not so! Medicare cuts you off once they deem you have reached your maximum potential. I’ve had a doctor tell me I’ll never walk again. (And I blush to admit, I need a brief, which is nursing home-speak for a diaper. I need support to sit up; my core. Thankfully my hands work (which they aren’t shaking) and I haven’t lost too many of my marbles. Memory retrieval is compromised, things are apt to come back minutes or hours later.

I’m writing on my phone, which is tedious, so that’s all for now

My brother passed away and I've been up to my neck in it. Will make a post in a few days. Many (((HUGS)))
