Sliding tile puzzle, revisited

I blew off church this morning to crisis-clean...had to make room on the counter (which I underestimated, of course), do dishes, plow a path from the front door because it had narrowed to a goat-trail, and do a fast pass through the fridge and toss the funkiest bits. I need to make another pass, and do some scrubbing, I need to get eggs and milk, and if I have mustard, I'm damned if I can find it....

OMG, I now have the Jared Padalecki of microwaves---it's ginornous! It does NOT fit on my counter where I'm used to having my microwave. If I insert it so that it faces north, the door won't open all the way because the side of the stove is in the way. If I angle it facing west, the *only* way it fits is between the stove and the wall, and the sweep of the door opening takes up most of the available countertop, not to mention I can't read the buttons because they're in the shadow of the overhead cabinets.

I'm going to have to relocate it. This is when I *really* wish I could remodel and rip out that closet to make room for the fridge. Because then I could install the counter in the ell where the fridge is now, plug the microwave in where the fridge is currently and be all set. What I think I'm going to do is take the wrought-iron fishtank stand and put it on that. Stick that next to the fridge and plug it into the same outlet. Will that work?! Dunno. And if I do that, wtf am I going to do with the storage cart that's loaded with nonperishables (foil, cling wrap, trashbags, etc.)?

But hey, I have a decent-sized microwave. It may require some finessing, but it's still a Very Good Thing.

Well, that's not going to fucking work.... (Wherein I say fuck a lot. Deal with it.)

Unearthed the fishtank stand. Moved the rolling cart aside, hauled the microwave over, set it down and discovered two serious problems. Yes, it's a little low, but that's inconvenient, not insurmountable. Howaver, it protrudes about six inches into the doorway, even with the door closed. *And* I can't shift the fridge enough to plug it in.

I have conceded defeat, at least temporarily. I put the old, small microwave back in its corner so I can at least nuke dinner. The rolling cart is blocking much of the counter. The new nuker is sitting there, semi-blocking the entrance. And I'm trying to figure out wtf to do now. The only other outlet in the room is at the other end of the counter, which should be wide enough, no problem there. The logistics, however, are a fucking nightmare.

My dishes live in the dishrack, which is right there in front of the last outlet, along with the toaster. Toaster is easy enough to move. Dishrack...*headdesk*...maybe. If I went through my cupboards, got rid of every damn thing that isn't Corelle or Pyrex, hauled it off to Goodwill and kept my regular dishes in that cabinet...I might, possibly, be able to park it in the corner of the dining room and stretch the cord to the last outlet, but only if I move a metric assload of stuff that lives in that corner now, because the fucking moron who designed my house didn't put ANY outlets in the dining room whatsoever. Excuse me while I throw a tantrum about how much I HATE MY FUCKING KITCHEN.

I know; First World problem. To which I say, I don't fucking care. It's still a problem, and on top of all my other problems, it's STRESS, which I don't fucking need any more of. WHY?! Why is it that having something that's supposed to be good happen turns into such a fiasco?!
