Educational on many levels....

Today, I learned that my car has a little light on the dash that comes one when I'm down to my last gallon of gas...with my fubared schedule this week, I wasn't paying attention until I saw the light. Coasted in to work on fumes.

Trendicrap training was average, for them. The big topic was this fall's jeans. Casual Boss tried to put me on the spot during the "issue" part of the session, but NO, I wasn't going to be the one to say, "Look, this bullshit with no free shipping codes is a four-star pain-in-the-ass, will you bozos please loosen up? You're killing us." Nope. I like my job, most of the time, even though this week has been pure shit.

Called S during my lunch break, and their trip is still on, apparently. She said she was trying to pack tonight so they could get out early tomorrow afternoon. (For grins and giggles, I plan to call during lunch tomorrow (7PM), just to see if they've left yet. Because, after 25 years, I KNOW her---she does NOT do "early" ANYthing.)

Got set free early, so I was able to get to the closest gas station ($4.10) during daylight hours to put enough in to get me to my usual station ($4.00), so now I have 3/4 of a tank, which will last me through next payday.

Tomorrow, I'll be going directly from work to Schnauzerland. S isn't the only one who needs to pack tonight!

I can't believe how cheap your gas is!!!!! the 'cheap' station around here is $4.56.

glad you made it to the station though. that's always scary.

*gawps* Holy crap. I'm reminding myself that you're in a major metropolitan area---the last time I was in NYC, I noticed their prices were 50 cents higher than ours. We, on the other hand, have sporadic public transportation. If I had to rely on it to get back and forth to work, I'd be out of a job.

Have a friend in Germany- she pays $8 per gallon. Canada is near $6. Unfortunately, we are just catching up to the rest of the world!

I'm firmly convinced that if we had all the money we've spent fighting in Irag, we could buy every driver in the US a shiny new hybrid and solve the problem.

Have fun in Schauzerland!

Gas bounces up over $4 here depending on what day of the week it is (the stations jack up the price on Thursday afternoon and it stays high through the weekend). I've been deliberately driving slowly to stretch the mpg.

There are still a couple places here that are a smidgen under $4. I'm a fairly conservative driver myself, but I have an exceptionally long commute AND I think my car needs a tune-up.

I'm praying for a lucky lotto ticket.

I can't even tell you how happy I am to be nonvehicular these days, although living in San Francisco does make it very easy and hubby's motorcycle gets great mileage when a longer excursion is necessary.

YAY FOR SCHNAUZERLAND!

If we had anything resembling public transit, I'd be overjoyed, but no such luck.

The schnauzers are fine, but I hate, loathe and despise this fucking computer.
