I thought that too -- the boys are back! And I nearly had a seizure watching Sam exercise. Jeeze Louise at the pecs, the abs, the whatever you call that muscle that runs up each side. *fans self*

I know, right?! Although, since when did he start paying for sex? Huge red flag, IMO, that he can't muster up enough of the old Sam Winchester charm to hook up.

Just guessing, but I have a suspicion that Sam's soul is MIA even though the rest of him is obviously in fine shape.

Well, there's that, plus every girl he's slept with on this show has died horribly, and then Dean's cutting comment about Sam bonking monsters. So either he, like Dean, left some part of himself in the Pit or he's afraid to make any kind of emotional commitment to another person, even for a one-night stand.
