(no subject)

Was that my second bag or my third? Second, but there *will* be a third. The barricade in front of my bedroom closet has gone from hip-deep to knee-deep and it's finally down to ankle-deep. No, damn it, I'm NOT exaggerating. But there's nothing under the bottom row of clothes, and I'm pretty sure one more bag in the bedroom will take care of the worst of it.

At this point, I've unearthed two hammered aluminum trays and a cookie sheet---I can only conclude, since the cookie sheet was in an upper strata, that I grabbed it because I couldn't find a tray when I needed one. Also a butter knife, an iced tea spoon, an entire egg carton's worth of hangers, most of another egg carton of aluminum cans (bearing in mind that I just recycled 43.5 pounds of cans LAST WEEK), several pairs of shoes, two pairs of panties and a Santa hat with leopard-fur trim.

I have not done laundry today, but at least with all the hangers I've unearthed, I can hang some of the stuff that's piled on top of the dryer. Now that I can get to my closet, I can also get to the drawers where my underwear is supposed to live.

Possibly, maybe, fingers crossed, I *might* have a visit from ThunderBunny tomorrow. TBunny is one of those full-tilt organizational geniuses, like GK, excellent at looking at what I consider to be a hopeless situation and going, "Okay, here's what we do first--". She's very chipper and positive about it all, and I know for a fact that if she shows up, more will get done in three hours than I'd get done single-handedly in a week.

A side benefit: She has a truck, so we can haul boxes of stuff to the thrift store...easier than trying to pack it in my subcompact and unpack when I get there, although not as bad as 43.5 pounds of cans! Everything goes faster with another pair of hands!

I'm now going to pray that TBunny's visit comes to pass.

Dinner sounds good.

I'll say grace, too.

A Santa hat with leopard fur trim is just marvelous. :D And GO FLUFFY! You are doing so well!

Yeah, a truck and an organizational whirlwind woman will make things SO much easier. *crosses fingers for you*

Thanks for the mojo and the cheerleading! I've been feeling anxious and sort of isolated. Anxious because of all the RL stuff and isolated because Mb has been keeping me at arm's length, it feels like, ever since the Ahab business. I don't know why, and it might just be that I'm overly sensitive, but after a couple months of being in each other's pockets, I'm suddenly out of the loop and freaking out. I get all, "What did I DO?! I didn't do anything wrong. Did I do something wrong? What did I DO?!"

That's a tough one, sweetie. It could be that Mb is feeling overwhelmed by Ahab herself, who sounded like he was quite addled, or maybe that she was expecting, but didn't give voice to, more than you were able to do for him. (This is a common problem with having caregivers who aren't really familiar with the person they're looking after, and is not a negative reflection on either of you.)

When you're up to it, you might just drop her a little "Hey, been missing you lots" note and see if that opens up dialogue with her. If not, or if the answer is not as positive as you hoped, then try not to let it derail you. You have been doing such a great job with yourself and the house. *hugs*

She rang me up this morning and she's coming by to kidnap me in a little while. So hopefully we'll have some quality time today!

Oh, fabulous! I kinda wish someone would kidnap me -- it's gray and gloomy outside and the guys (furry and non) leave a trail of destruction in their wake all weekend.

I'll post all about it tomorrow when I'm not wuite so tired...did a lot of walking, and on top of yesterday's labors, stick a fork in me, I'm DONE.

Fun though!

I agree! You are doing so well!

I have no really idea of what you're up against.

Happily, I have OCD. Nary a stray item in my abode :)

Thankfully, I'm not bad enough for an episode of Hoarders, but most people would probably be aghast at the state of my domicile even now. I've got lots of ideas of thinks I'd like to do, but I've also likened it to one of those sliding tile puzzles: Can't do A because B needs to happen, and B won't get done unless C swaps places with D, but E is blocking that---and so on. I'm more than a little bit of a packrat, and I've been living here since 1974.

That's what I'm up against. Could I borrow you?!

LOL! Sure!
