O frabjous day! Calloo, callay!

I have a TV. PJ proved that the third time was the charm, and hauled it in a few minutes ago.

Wow. It's HUGE.

My old, very old TV, hereinafter refered to as "The Postage Stamp" has a 9" screen. (Yes, that's on the diagonal.) This one is a full 31". No more squinting to make out captions, huzzah!

I'll probably spend half the evening getting it hooked up, but then, woohoo! It's going to be awesome.

(It was also good for spurring a small cleaning frenzy. The kitchen-dining room had definitely backslid.)

You've been watching TV on a 9" screen? Wow, that gives me a headache just THINKING about all the squinting!

Yeah...this one is bigger than the one I've got in the living room! It's amazing!

Mind you, it's +90F today---between the frantic clean-up and getting it wrestled in there, I'm still soggy. I'm taking 3-4 showers a day. It's crazy.

I commiserate, I really do. While your humidity is worse than ours, ours isn't a picnic either. It's been in the upper 80's and MUGGY for the last 3 days. Feels more like 95 in the sun and you can't dry off. Just... Ugh.

The humidity is the absolute worst, I agree. At the point, we're hurting for rain, but that would give us 100% humidity. Guh, can't win....

Yes, I do believe that some of my face melted off today...when you get that sweat in your eyes, it's blinding.

And it's still only June. By August, I'm going to spontaneously combust into a little pile of pork rinds.

How's the new TV? We are still one of the few families left on the planet that just have old fashioned regular sized TV's- the one in my room is about 9 inches. The "big" one is perhaps 20 inches- no flat screens or fancy stuff. I've never really been one to invest $ in television's. Just never been that interested. It's nice that you got a bigger one gratis- the prices on any of them seem out of sight to me!

It's fabulous! I can sit back against a pile of pillows and still see the screen, as opposed to the postage stamp, where I had to sit on the edge of the bed three feet away and still squint. The sound is good, a vast improvement over the 'stamps tinny little speakers, and when I put it on 'mute' during the commercials, there's no high-pitched hum.

Invest money?! What a bizarre thought. Except for a black and white portable, circa 1982, I've never paid for a TV. They were all given to me. I remember at one time, I had two TVs in my bedroom; I didn't have cable at the time, and one of them tuned in channel 6, the other got channel 9. And that was all!
