Fab Friday evening
I may have grumped about J from time to time, but I hereby take it all back. When I came over this evening, she had a surprise for me.
Now, she's been hinting for the last couple weeks that Something Was Coming, and that I would never, ever guess what it was.
Well, she was right.
I squeed like mad when she produced Season One of Adam-12. OMG, TALK about a blast from the past! Growing up, my standard Saturday night viewing was Adam-12, Emergency!, Mission: Impossible and Mannix.
We watched the first two eps tonight---a very young Cloris Leachman was in one ep, and Melody Patterson also showed up. (Oh, this is going to be fun!) I'd forgotten how baby-faced Kent McCord was...mmm-mmmm! And I think it's amusing how men's grooming has finally come full-circle to clean-cut once again....

I think we had the same childhood! IIRC, Sunday was Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom and World of Disney. (And Dad always watched 60 Minutes.)
Have fun. I can't wait to hear who else turns up!

Of course, it all started with Friday eves, which was The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family and Here Come the Brides. (I had *such* a crush on Bobby Sherman!)

OMG! Those were my shows, too. (Except it was my sister who crushed on Jeremy. I drooled over Joshua (David Soul) -- but Jason was the type I wanted to marry. Did you ever read the Star Trek/Here Come the Brides crossover? It was one of the authorized paperback novels, and was very well done.
Naturally I 'wrote' a sequel (in my head, this was long before I got into fanfic) about a young woman in the same predicament Spock was in -- except I, erm... she didn't lose her memory.
EEEEEEEE!!!
I found an entry for it on the Star Trek website: Ishmael

My mind just boggled.
Gotta go check that out....

On another blast-from-the-past note: I caught 3 episodes of Starsky & Hutch last week on RetroTV and couldn't stop giggling. Funny, I don't remember it being quite so cheesy. Heh!

I know what you mean about cheesy. J has very limited cable and tends to gravitate toward a local channel that leans toward reruns of The Brady Bunch, and I can't stop snickering about the 70s fashions.

Here's one of Bobby's cereal box records (on Cinnamon Raisin Bran - don't remember THAT flavor):
