Let there be Peace on Earth...

Hooray, hooray! The mail is here, bringing goodies. SPN season 2, for starters. The case is a wee bit chewed up, but hopefully, that won't extend to the contents. There was also a delightful card from the frozen white north, IE,
jdsgirlbev in Canada to crack me up, promising a future surprise. (?!?!) I especially love the stamps---those dragonflies are gorgeous! From
kukkurkurat, comes a package all the way from Tallinn, Estonia. Groping it, no hard edges reveal themselves, yet it doesn't seem to be bendy. I'm tantalized---what do we have here?! I feel very well-loved, which is reassuring at this time of year.
Saturday evening, I was on a call, and remarked that I thought things had been a zoo since Thanksgiving. "Me, too," my caller replied. "Oh, are you in retail, too?" I asked, ready to trade war stories. "No," she said, "I work for a crisis line---domestic violence." That broke my heart a little---nothing I've encountered in my adventures in e-commerce can possibly compare to the stuff that woman has to deal with. And I hurt, too, for all those people affected by it, especially during the season that's supposed to be about loving families and Peace on Earth. If Earth seems like a tall order, peace at home would be a good start.
Woke up with the new curtains and am quite satisfied. They are less opaque than the old ones, and look very pretty with the sun behind them. They may fade out within the year, but what can you expect for $4?
