There's been a lot of trouble with the USPS around here lately. I mailed a payment to a vendor from the office (Cape Canaveral) that only had to go to Cocoa Beach. She received it over one month after I mailed it. I am betting that the original check shows up in your mailbox. I am sure they stopped payment on it by now but I'll bet it shows.
