The water here is very mineral-y. Without filtering, it tends to make me thirstier than I was before I drank any! And I figure $7 every couple of months for a new filter is still a helluva lot cheaper than when I was living on diet soda--I'm glad I kicked that monkey off my back!--but I got really spoiled having the 18-cup dispenser instead of the 6 cup pitcher.
