A few of the things I volunteered for are fandoms that no one would suspect from looking at my ff.net list. Likewise, none of my requests are reflected in anything I've written. Why is that, I wonder?
Movie fics seem to be second only to anime on that list (with Harry Potter a close third, but *no one's* going to call that obscure!) And as a movie afficianado, I've gone that way as a matter of course. You'd think I *never* read any books, when in fact, I've spent quite a lot of time reading.
A couple of the things I volunteered for were things I noticed on last year's request list...I've mulled them over for a while, so if I *do* get picked for those, at least I've got a thought or two churning around. (And if somebody's been hoping to get a story for that long, and I can give it to them, that's pretty cool.) I *didn't* pick anything I wasn't thoroughly familiar with, or anything that I'd have to try to watch or reread in the midst of chaos season. (There's a difference between challenge and masochism...)
