Apparently the Word Pad glitch was caused by a CD it didn't like. I removed the CD, and things are (fingers crossed) back to normal. It allowed me to create a new document with yesterday's list and a couple sentences beside each to see if anything struck me as particularly well-developed. Several ideas have potential--one of them is something I did a whole outline and a chapter for (about ten years ago; I've no idea of what happened to it). It's sci-fi/alternate history, multi-generational...I know who my five main characters are...I just think it might be a bit too ambitious for a starter.

A half-dozen of the plots churning around are historical. Historical=research. A handful are contemporary adventure-thriller-mystery...I suppose if I'm perfectly honest with myself, I'd like to do something along the lines of "Clockwork Mexico" with OCs. Presumably set in Florida, since I can't afford to travel for background for this one....

This definitely gives me something to think about over the weekend....
