B's been cleared to return to work tomorrow. Since today was her last day of freedom for such projects, I went over there and helped her glaze her bathroom. Glaze as in, the shade of yellow on her walls was not to her liking, so we went over it with white paint and glaze in a 1:4 ratio. (More glaze than paint, in other words.)

It turned out nicely, and I'm musing upon the possibility of doing something with glaze in my bedroom. It was last painted in 1992, at which time I was working 3rd shift. Under the circumstances, chocolate pudding brown wasn't a terrible wall color--I had mostly brown paisley sheets--it was nice and subdued. Fifteen years later, I'm heartily sick of it. B has some leftover white paint I can use as a basecoat, and I have a gallon of a rather pretty blue-violet that I got from an "oops" table and was going to use as an accent color in the master bath. Having seen how little paint the technique took, I think it's feasible.

Painting my bedroom is actually a project I wouldn't need to buy anything for: I've got the paint and brushes. Hmm...okay, I'd need some putty to fill in some of the holes and dents in the walls. That's under $5, if I don't have some already, which I just might. I'll have to poke around the garage.

The thought of *not* having brown walls makes me *very* happy.
