Apr. 28th, 2006 05:30 pmToday I added up how much of my working life has been dedicated to telephone customer service of one flavor or another. For the record, my phone experience is:
Phone sales (newspaper subscriptions): 2 months
Answering service: 4 years, 4 months
Directory assistance: 1 year, 6 months
Floral ordering CSR: 6 months
Medical billing CSR: 4 years, 9 months
And that doesn't include the jobs where answering the phone was part of being office help.
It wasn't all back-to-back; I've had a variety of odd jobs in the middle, been in and out of school--but I seem to keep ending up back on the phones.
missybrat is encouraging me to call a certain local facility that's also medically orientated...but I'm going to try other avenues for a few weeks because the thought of going back to an ungrateful cube farm makes me want to scream. Loudly.
There's got to be a better way to make a living....
