The power was out at church this morning--our transformer blew. Apparently, we're the only ones on that particular line. I suggested opening the doors in hopes of getting some moving air, but was voted down with the claim that it was hotter outside than it was in the church. IMO, moving air isn't as bad as dead air, and it was dim and airless in there. (They got the lights, et al, back about twenty minutes before the last of us departed.) According to the FPL guys, we got our money's worth out of the transformer--"That should last you another thirty years." was how they phrased it.
Iryne admired my show-and-tell (recent projects)--I wish I had a camera or scanner so I could post some of my bling! The sweet young lady who was at our last CUUPs meeting was there today, so I got to thank her for her tip (Paint the tiny incipient split on my drumhead with clear nail polish to seal it--it works!) and we admired each other's pretties. She's another one who goes, "Oooh, shiny...."
Yup, magpie in a past life, that's me!
