Much more upbeat
May. 20th, 2006 12:34 pmI feel like singing a chorus of "The sun will come out--tomorrow!"--but I can't really sing, and besides, the sun is out right now. I got the car jump-started bright and early, AND (This is the really cool part!) got an e-mail from my best friend that she's coming down for Memorial Day weekend ALONE. (The offspring stay home with Daddy. This is a Good Thing.)
Mind you, my bank balance is still a whopping sixty-nine cents. I got a stub from unemployment, but my check, which is supposed to be direct deposited, hasn't been yet. Monday morning, if it isn't in the bank, I'm going down to the office and finding out WTF is going on. This is just insane.
I have a CUUPs meeting at 4--more drumming, I hope! I've kept my drum on my desk for the last month and have taken to tucking it under my arm and tapping out a little rhythm while thinking. (I'd be tapping on the desk anyway...nervous habit.) I'm thinking seriously of getting a better drum when the 401K money shows up. Cheap stress relief is always good.
