Shoes

There are many thousands of pairs of shoes on eBay in my size, you wouldn't think finding a couple pairs would be that difficult, would you? Especially after excluding the things I *can't* wear under the corporate dress code. (No, I haven't heard back yet, but I'm going to act as if.) So. That means no

* boots
* sandals
* stilettos
* mules/clogs/slides
* slingbacks
* oxfords
* athletic shoes

Which narrows it down considerably. And speaking of narrow, I have wide feet. It runs in the family. The letters "A" and "B" are not passing grades when it comes to my shoes.

I am also 5'10", so I really don't need extra height. Cross out anything above a 2" heel. Okay, I've been known to bend that rule for the right shoes...mostly, though, I wear flats. I'm the one who has to wear them; I want shoes that won't be punishment to wear.

What does that leave? Well, once I ruled out anything over $20, a few hundred candidates. Lots of basic black: I can find that locally and avoid shipping. A lot of just plain ugly footwear: it's got flowers or little bows or it's some fuck-awful color that I don't have in my wardrobe, and what's more, wouldn't have on a bet.

I like shoes with a little sex appeal, even if I'm the only one who notices. Oh, and while I'm on the subject, all the references to cross-dressers and the equivalent male shoe size is bugging the hell out of me. Excuse me, sometimes Real Girls have big feet! (This is not to be construed as being anti-drag queen, but geez, Louise, could you make me feel any more self-conscious about the size of my Clydesdales?!)

All this so that I can go sit in an office with my feet under a desk where no one will see the damn shoes anyway!
