Sequel? Here's how it's done, Disney....
Jul. 12th, 2006 08:55 pmToday I wanked around writing, watching "The Mummy Returns" and doing a spot of beadwork on the side. Yes, "The Mummy Returns"---a sequel the way sequels *ought* to be done. They didn't try to draw it out to a trilogy---I don't include "The Scorpion King", because it stands alone perfectly well, even for someone who hasn't seen either of the Mummy films. They just followed up the first one with a well-made second one, and that was that.
Why? Well, because the other day, I got into a discussion about hurt-comfort with
jonnycarnahan, who instigated a slash bunny. It's not a *very* slashy bunny (for me!), and even the hurt-comfort is pretty mild, but who knows? I might continue it and get really juicy.
The quick-and-dirty draft is at
bystanderfic. (I say draft, because I started it less than 24 hours ago, and I usually tweak compulsively. I'll no doubt slap it around some more before posting it on ff.net.) Enjoy, y'all!
