I got a batch of job-related e-mails from GK last night, and sent a query to an agency who called me at 8 this morning. Agency as in temp agency, but NOT the ones who've been jerking my chain for the last couple of weeks. I had an appointment there at 2 this afternoon, filled in a metric butt-load of paperwork, and may actually have something lined up starting next Tuesday. (It's not quite carved in stone yet, but it's a strong possibility.)

There are other things I'm investigating, although anything else had better develop DAMN FAST...I can't afford NOT to take it, even though
A) It's telemarketing. I suck at sales. Give me inbound calls, and I'll wow 'em, but my (brief, long ago) experience with phone sales was not a happy time.
B) It's second shift. Good, in that it gives me days to find something better while making an income, bad in that next Tuesday night, which is when it starts, is the season premiere of House.
C) Uh...those are the main reasons, really. But the House-conflict makes me want to rip out handfuls of hair and wail. It's always something~-!

I'll take it if I have to, because I have to. If that's what it takes to pay my dues with the agency, I'll do it for a few weeks, but long-term--sweet fuck, no! Either I'll find a better job during the day, or they'll offer me something else that I'm better suited to. The gal working the orientation was twenty-something and perky, and she assured me that I would be on the list for clerical-type jobs, that I'm very well qualified. ExpandExtensive babbling about why she's right. )

Anyway, I'll know tomorrow what's going on, but it looks like I'll have myself a job. And hopefully, since Fox has whole episodes of "Prison Break" on-line for viewing, that they'll do the same with House....
