Off we go....

Today I got insurance paid (both kinds), dashed off a check to the water department, and wondered why it took me so long. The money's been there for a few weeks...maybe it's so I could feel like I *had* it, even if I couldn't spend it on anything else.

Sunday afternoon, I relocate for a week while S. is on her cruise. I get to schnauzer-sit my godchildren: three adult mini schnauzers. When I did it last summer, there were three adults, two puppies, and a Scottie that wasn't housebroken and piddled on everything. However, there are no puppies in residence at the moment, and the Scottie has a new home, thank goodness! The "good" thing about being out of work: I don't have to burn gas on a commute that was three times as far each way....

Anyhow, it'll earn me a few dollars, and it's not exactly a hardship. They have a hot tub, and I can go for walks on the beach a block away. (I suspect I've done more of that while house-sitting than S. has in the whole time she's lived there.)

I'm hauling my computer over there, too---if it was just a weekend, I'd probably make do with her Mac (which I detest), but for seven days? I can't neglect my plot bunnies for that long!
