vanillafluffy: (phone ringing)
Just a couple more days of training, then I get to go onto my normal shift. Which is a mixed blessing, but given a choice between rush hour traffic and having to pry myself out of bed at the crack of dawn and sleeping in and coming home after midnight, well, midnight it is.

Today I actually took a few calls, plugged in with someone more experienced. Got bitched out once by some fool who claimed we hadn't notified him his order was cancelled...but I've been bitched out by tougher folks than him, so, while it was unpleasant, it wasn't that big a deal. Compared to having patients screaming at me because they went to collections, this guy was an amateur. Too bad, so sad, get the fuck over it. Plus, handled a few routine calls: do you have these boots in wide, how can I find out if the designer handbag I bought secondhand is genuine, has my order shipped yet?

There is a LOT of stuff to keep track of---promo offers and new products and overlapping software and whatnot...and while I *do* have some trepidation about how complicated it is, I'm realistic about it. It is NOT as difficult as what I was doing---for instance, there are 26 different ways to file an insurance claim form, and a couple dozen ways for each of them to be rejected---plus the idiosyncrasies of each individual insurance company. And that doesn't begin to touch on what kinds of asshats patients can be....

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get anyone too off the chain, at least not right away. I keep hearing about how crazy it's going to be by Xmas, and how I'll have people screaming about how I'm ruining their Christmas because THEY waiting til the last minute to place an order.

(Note to youse guys: Ordering on-line? GET IT DONE BEFORE DECEMBER 21ST. Because otherwise, we can't guarantee shipping, and you will get ZERO sympathy, no matter how much you whine, weep, pout or bat your eyelashes. Just so you know.)
