These boots are made of awesome---!

My favorite indoor sport...okay, my second favorite indoor sport---sniping. Tonight it was The Boots. I've been babbling for the last couple of months about wanting a pair of drop-dead boots, and I found them a few days ago on eBay. They're brown**, ankle-high---they remind me of a pair of Levi's boots I acquired new back in 1986 and wore to death. (Seriously---I had them resoled about four times until the stitching wore through.) The toes are rounded, the stacked heels are modest (1 1/2 inches), and the top opening is adjustable enough to accomodate my Clydesdale ankles.



I paid more than I would've liked because a bunch of neos started a bidding war a few hours ago...but it's okay, I got them! (she says with a maniacal gleam in her eyes). And honestly? I've been pricing new boots long enough to know that they probably retailed for at least twice what I got them for, regardless. I've only seen one *new* pair that I liked nearly this much, and I havered about them until they were sold out in my size, because the heels were a bit steeper than I like. (I'm 5'10" and a few fractions---I don't *need* three inch heels!) These ended up costing me about the last price I saw the other ones marked down to, but my price includes shipping and insurance.

This is the first time I've bought footwear from eBay. Clothes, yes, with generally good results, but I'm going to be crossing my fingers waiting for these guys to arrive.
