I just finished the gift fic, and copied it to my FF.net docs folder. Comparing the word count Word gives (1941) with the FF.net count (2031), I'm wondering about the discrepancy. I presume FF counts hyphenated words differently, or something like that. Strange.

I remember now why I detested and avoided getting MS Word for so long---it may work fine for your average grammatically-challenged writer of business documents, but fiction isn't always going to be correct. Sometimes they're outright wrong as far as plurals or tenses go. And I'm constantly adding to its vocabulary. Snark is so a word!

Okay, so I've completed that, and I'm editing the Bobby-fic, and I need to do something with that Criminal Minds fic before that gets shot down by canon. And then...who knows, I might do something with that Xmas bunny.

My God, I think I've come unstuck---which beats the hell out of coming unglued!

I've been invited to a Thanksgiving buffet by S, who refers to it as "priming the pump" for future favors. It's a good deal more extravagant than anything I would've planned, namely a $31 feast at a local hotel, and while that seems staggeringly expensive IMO, I'm more than willing to try to get her money's worth. I can cook that turkey breast later.

The current plan calls for hauling the Camaro over to Car Guy's next week. I could've done it this week, but I want another week of pie-in-the-sky before Reality descends upon me. At the moment, I've got it rebuilt, painted matte black (with cherry red accents) and have named it Josephine. (As in the George Thorogood song, "Ride On, Josephine"....) The interior is a masterpiece of rockabilly, with polka dots, cherries and leopard print headliner-slipcovers-floor mats. And fuzzy dice. Gotta have the dice hanging from the rear view.

On the other hand, if anyone wants to get Overhaulin' involved, I'm good with that, too.
