I've been working on the Crack!fic-That-Grew-a-Plot, and ran into a wee snag that I needed to research. So I popped over to Wikipedia, and noticed a link to something called supernaturalwiki.com, which I'd never seen before. Got good and distracted! Answered my question and browsed for a while, and then, at the bottom of the Bobby entry, there was a link to fiction featuring Bobby Singer.

Well, of course, I clicked! And it took me to [livejournal.com profile] singer_salvage, which prompted a squee of ear-splitting proportions. I have arrived!

Okay, back to work!

I usually 'mute' commercials. Or forward through them on DVR. Usually. But sometimes, if I'm a little zoned out or have my hands full, the paens to crass consumerism get through.

What are some of your favorites?

I played hooky from church today. Gave [livejournal.com profile] missybrat a call, and we went and had a light luncheon at Cracker Barrel and schmoozed and giggled and had a good time. She and Mr. Man (as she refers to her hubby) are looking for a new place, and there's a house around the corner from me that's got a sign up. It's lease/rent-with-option, fixed up with a great new kitchen and tile floors, and Has Possibilities. It would be awesome to have her in the neighborhood, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

She also mentioned that her mechanic is sweet and single, so I may find him and see if there are any Possibilities there.

We're both dying to go check out the new IKEA store in Orlando. A field trip is planned after the holidays.

I love getting back in touch with my gal pals! Between her and Red, I have a couple more people to hang out with when there's space in my social calendar. Yay!

The Crack!fic-That-Grew-a-Plot is proceeding with startling rapidity. It was around 900 words on Friday afternoon, and it's just pushed past 3000. I'm hoping I can get it knocked out by Tuesday, so I can get back to work on the Xmas fic, which is massively seasonal AND will complete another one of my self-challenges to do things that make me uncomfortable.

In this case, I'm attempting a lengthy Sam POV. So far, the longest Sam-centric fic I've done was Warts and All (2517), and I'm reasonably sure this is going to be a LOT longer. It's a challenge, because I don't 'get' Sam the same way I get Dean.

I suspect that this one is going to weigh in around 5000 words, maybe a bit more. Around the same length as Junkyard Dog. We'll see.

Git 'r done!
