Jewelery cliches
Dec. 18th, 2007 02:35 amThe 1950's had charm bracelets and circle pins.
The 60's had love beads and peace signs everywhere.
In the 70's came mood rings and puka shell necklaces.
The 80's invented those twist necklaces and featured giant-scale earrings.
The 90's had that squiggle pin that looked like a metallic cartoon tornado.
And now there's the ubiquitous piece of the new millenium: that freaking S-curve diamond necklace.
Honestly, if I DID have someone who'd pop for something like that, I'd be hinting broadly that I'd prefer power tools. I mean, I like bling as much as the next gal, but a reciprocating saw and a drill would be a lot more useful for fixing up the house.
