I have a sense of accomplishment
Jan. 2nd, 2008 02:22 pmI've just returned from the much-postponed running around with Kat. She backed her minivan into my driveway at noon, and I loaded it up. And up. And up....
The cargo:
200+ books---I stopped counting at 200, but I know I threw a few more in there
2 cartons of clothes that didn't fit/didn't look good
1 carton of stuffed aminals---I thinned the herd a bit---and a dollhouse
3 kitchen-sized trashbags and three grocery bags full of aluminum cans
The cans totaled 13 pounds, bringing my total up to 59 pounds (I'm certain I could've scrounged another couple pounds if I'd tried, but I was worn out from loading all the damned books.) for the year.
The other stuff I dropped off at the Sharing Center---thankfully, they had someone there to help unload it!---and I got my flirt on with a guy in the parking lot. He was wearing a leather coat and cowboy hat and driving a tasty yellow and white '57 BelAir. He said he'd rather have a new car *mind boggled* but when I looked inside I could see why. It was kinda trashed. He waved at me as he was leaving, which made me think I've still got some va-va-voom left!
Now, holy wow, I've got floor space in here without those blasted boxes cluttering it up. Time to resume Project Boudoir!
