I met CF and her daughter for lunch today---slightly late, because on my way down Peachtree, my muffler laughed at my attempts to wire it and began dragging on the ground. I carefully turned around and headed for CarGuy's, which, fortunately, is less than a mile from there. He had it secured in record time (I'm going to have to crawl under there and see if I can figure out what he secured it TO), so I was less than ten minutes late.

The restaurant is one I haven't been to in several years, and it's under new management. There was no complimentary plate of savories before the entree, and the prices! Gasp! My tab came to over $20, which I consider unacceptable for lunch, tasty as it was. Six dollars of that was dessert, which was a moist slice of coconut heaven. Custardy filling, magnificent boiled icing thick with coconuts shavings---my sole complaint is that if they're going to charge prices like that, they could be a little more generous with the portions. The service was not extraordinary---CF didn't tip at all, and I gave less than 10%---and we were seated near a party who were NOT using their inside voices! It's a shame, because they used to be much more affordable and a nice place for a nosh with the girls.

Went over to Hancock Fabrics afterward seeking trimming for a hat. Last weekend at Asbury, I picked up a little brown hat, which is the same shape as the one I featured in yesterday's post. I found a creme-colored ribbon with brown polka dots, and I'm planning to combine it with some silk sunflowers in lieu of cabbage roses.

Now I'm going to get busy on Posse (the working title of my Jericho WIP). I managed a couple 'graphs between calls last night, although it was a pretty steady night.

PS, the tomatoes seem to be perky enough after being transplanted. And it looks so nice, driving up and seeing the rows of pots and the dragon on the wall!
