Type-casting

Season One of Mannix has just been released on DVD. I am lusting mightily for it, since I had a huge crush on Mike Connors back in the day. In memory, my childhood Saturday nights are a tapestry of Emergency! at 8 PM, Mission: Impossible at 9, and Mannix at 10---that was the latest Mother allowed me to stay up, and I savored it and Joe Mannix. He fell within the parameters of a type I still go for almost 40 years later: tough but sexy, with dark hair and eyes---and a great car.

I'm wondering if I can eke it out of this week's paycheck....
