Weekend update
Sep. 1st, 2008 03:33 pmI'm at the C's to house-sit. There's central air, which is divine, chocolate donuts (Entenmann's!) on the counter, and a copy of Wire Art magazine in the powder room. Life is good!
Yesterday was also filled with delights: someone brought in salmon, bagels and cream cheese for nosh at church, and we had a visit from the always delightful SpaceCadet. She hasn't been around in...yikes, about two years (I was between jobs the last time I saw her), and it was great to hear her distinctive laugh again.
She was rallying around G, as we all were. She's gotten contributions of clothes from several of the other gals, and a box of shoes from me, because, as we'd discussed recently, we're both size 11. And because looters got her jewelry, everybody contributed a piece or two of bling. G was very moved. Tissues, anyone?
I spent yesterday afternoon/evening doing laundry and trying to make some headway in my bedroom...also watched 2 Fast 2 Furious (even without Vin Diesel, you've got James Remar and Eva Mendes in the same place---what's not to love!?) and xXx (Twice, because it was on back-to-back, although I was in and out, so I didn't see ALL of it twice. And even if I did, so what? It's my favorite action movie of all time, who cares if there's a plot?).
Tomorrow, lunch with Red.
