Today has been interesting. The weather isn't quite cold, but it's comfortable enough that I can wear a jacket without melting. I'm getting a lot of use out of the leopard print one that I scored last February in Vero. Saw a great vintage El Camino on the way to work---60's, orange. Got there, and the parking lot is being retarred. Not fresh asphalt, just a glaze of tar and new parking lines. (I'm weird, I happen to
like the scent of fresh tar.)
Because our department in particular is at overflow capacity, I ended up on the far side of the call center from where I usually sit. I don't know how much placement had to do with it, but except for a few hectic periods, it was fairly mellow. Although, jiminy-shit, people, FIX the problem with the credit card software, because I'm getting DAMN tired of conversations that begin, "I placed and order with you, and I was just checking my bank statement---" Argh!
Still, like I said, it wasn't totally back-to-back, and I got out in time to watch SPN. *happy sigh* Zoomed on home, and found good mail! The FPL bill---I know, usually bills don't fall into the "good mail" category, but since I paid it yesterday---! Ha! I win!
I also got a studly Christmas card from
dine, and my very first Christmas present in a card that was hand-delivered by one of Santa's elves---sing hosannas and yeehaw! I now have AAA membership! I suspect I know who the kindly elf is; of the half-dozen people I know in RL who actually follow my babbling, one in particular has a history of benevolence. Thank you, my dear. That's a huge weight lifted from my shoulders!
E-mail brought me news that someone at the Pit of Voles favorited
Pickings , and there was a review for
The One About The Traveling Salesman , which makes me happy. So did my beta's comments on my most recent efforts. (I've been oddly insecure about this one.)
Now I'm going to raid the pantry and crawl into bed. Normal schedule tomorrow, and then Saturday, I'm going down early---not for work, but for the car show they're holding at the adjacent Hooters. Vroom-vroom, yay!
