Hydraulic hijinks (or, Adventures in Plumbing)

A little too much fiber in my diet, maybe? Anyway, my drain was well and truly clogged, and I don't mean a casual pair of Crocs, I mean the entire crew of Lord of the Dance on strike in my outflow pipe. Not good.

Called around. Got estimates from $119 *GASP* to $85-with-$5-off-for-cash *wince*. Had an appointment set for 10:30. Got up early for said appointment. Waited. Called at 11:15. An hour? Okay, lunch. Wait. 12:45---during the make-up session at the end of What Not to Wear---there's a knock on the door.

To summarize, I've been snaked and plumbed, got the wobble in the master bath toilet fixed, had the chain adjusted in the other one so I don't have to hold the handle down for a ten-count. Mind you, there is still much scrubbing to be done---things backed up quite badly!---but I can flush. And, when I've scoured and bleached the floor of the shower, scrub myself.

I should be at work. Right now, seeing as how my start time is 3 PM. I've warned them that I'm going to be late, I'm trying to work up a sense of urgency and spring into action...in fact, I feel weary and apathetic. I have an urge to hibernate.
