It won't come as a surprise to anyone who knows S that they've postponed leaving til tomorrow. *I'm* perfectly fine with it---I got to come back to the C's and NOT have to navigate A1A on a Saturday night. (Way too many bars along that strip, with a corresponding number of intoxicated a-holes.) Tentative plan calls for heading out to church as usual if I'm awake in time, or to my house if I'm not.

Going to my place offers me a chance to 1) Check my mail---Life's That Way, as forwarded by [livejournal.com profile] pwcorgigirl should be there. 2) Catch up on some TV---thanks to the vagarities of the Dish Network, I haven't seen Royal Pains, Harper's Island* or this week's WNTW. 3) Water the begonias. 4) Drop off a library book or two.

Happily, S has cable, and a king-shit HDTV the size of a picture window. She even said she'd clear off some room for me, so next week's vital vieweing won't be slighted. I'm also planning to snag a few bags of ice and play polar bear in the jacuzzi. And take at least one long walk on the beach. (That almost came out as "one long wank on the beach"---which just goes to show how much fandom can invade one's subconscious!)

====================================
* Caught the last 15 minutes of H.I. during my last break---argh! Tragic!---and really want to find out if what I *did* see corroborates certain suspicions I've mentioned elsewhere.

I understand why they're not scheduling the grand finale for the 4th of July weekend---too many viewers off doing things---but since *I* have it off, it figures....

Just got off the phone with S, who claims to have one foot out the door and the other on a banana peel. T was allegedly in the car tooting his horn. A mere 30 hours later than planned---that's not even a record!---which amuses the heck out of me.

I'm home, have snagged the parcel from my mailbox---haven't opened it yet, but I'm gleefully anticipating Jim Beaver's memoir, Life's That Way. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] pwcorgigirl, who, when I grumped that it isn't in our local library system, offered me her gently-read copy.

Watched last night's Harper's Island, oh my. Am going to hold off on Royal Pains---I have no doubt USA will rerun it.

Surprisingly, I'm not as wretchedly uncomfortable as I have been for the last few weeks, perhaps because I've been cool and happy for a few days, so it isn't cumulative misery.

Next up, I'm going to head over to Schnauzerland. I have learned not to take anything for granted, so I'm going to check the fridge there BEFORE I hit Publix. (It never fails---if I stop at the store, there will be tons of everything. If I don't, it'll be a bag of limp lettuce and some squishy tomatoes.)
