vanillafluffy: (Candle loses nothing)
I've had a friend's situation on my mind for the past few days---her father, a diabetic, has an infection in his foot, and there was concern that they might have to amputate. I've done my best to send good energy their way---all I can do, since she's on another continent---and this morning I had an email from her saying that the consult with the vascular surgeon showed that he has full circulation in all parts of his leg and should recover fully without drastic intervention.

Call it what you want---prayer, meditation, spellwork, intent, reiki, sending energy, thinking good thoughts, or just humming along---when you care about someone enough to be mindful of their problems, it's going to have a ripple effect. As yet, there's no way to demonstrate that, but I sincerely believe it.

Blessed be, y'all.

Today has actually gone pretty well. I wasn't expecting Kat to call for me to go with her (although I should have)---to the credit union, to the garage, to the tag office and the post office. And she THANKED me for helping---total 180 from Monday---and treated me to a Double Gulp at S'leven.

It felt really funny to take charge with her right there, but I was able to explain what we needed clearly and concisely and pretty much all she had to do was show her ID and pay for the copy of the title and the cost of the registerred letter.

Tomorrow, I've made plans with Mb to go to Kat's, clean out my car (under her level, shaded carport---my driveway is on a 40-degree incline) and then head over to the complex pool for a refreshing swim. By then, we'll be ready for it, and since it's post-Labor Day, there shouldn't be any rampaging rug rats there to spoil it.

Meanwhile, I have a story off being betaed, the boys will be "here" to keep me company in a little while, and I've been running diagnostics on my computer all afternoon. It's running considerably faster. Not lightning speed by any stretch of the imagination, but it's enough of an improvement that I'm less likely to have an anurysm while I'm swearing at it.
