(no subject)

J took me out to lunch this afternoon, then we sat there and shot the breeze for two solid hours. Dogs, dog training, reality TV and music. She wasn't aware that I like classical music, which surprised me. (The classical music channel is my default setting for background noise.)

Finally, we went back to her place and watched a couple movie: Beverly Hills Chihuahua and Bolt. Cute. Diverting.

I was going to try to whip up dessert to take to church tomorrow, but it's too late now. Plus, I'm trying to figure out what I have ingredients for. It seems like half the recipes I look at have ONE major componant I'm lacking. I have margerine, but it calls for butter. I have soda and powder, but no cream of tartar. Or it wants me to separate eggs. I'm lacking when it comes to buttermilk, coconut flakes and nuts.

On the other hand, I have flour, sugar (brown, white and confectioners), and pounds upon pounds of dried plums. I suspect a cross between gingerbread and fruitcake.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Where have all the Bunnies gone...?

I've managed NOT to take a nap this afternoon, because I'm trying to get back out of the "up til the wee hours" syndrome again. It's a constant battle, and living most of a week on scant sleep hasn't helped.

Stuck my nose in a book for a couple hours, but I finished it, and I'm afraid if I stay on the bed, I'll fall asleep. I'm tired and not up for cleaning, or cooking or baking. Both of the latter require cleaning prior so I'll have a) room to work and b) room to clean up. I'm yawning non-stop, but I *know* I need to stay awake til at least 9 tonight.

I miss being able to lose myself in whatever I'm writing. I have a plethora of WIPs on my hard drive, but nothing I can make myself give a damn about. SPN has pretty much killed itself as a fandom for me. Justified...didn't go in quite the direction I was hoping for this season; although I love it to bits, the prospect of writing for it leaves me perplexed. And there really aren't any other fandoms that make me want to anchor my ass to the chair and type like a woman possessed. No pun intended.

I sound whiny, right? Hey, if I can't whine here, where can I whine?

And I wish I could get my neck to crack.
