After 48 hours of heavy-duty antibiotic bombardment, things have improved considerably. The inflammation has gone down enough that I can walk without nearly as much fussin' and cussin'. The heel still isn't real happy, but I can feel improvement from yesterday.

When I changed my dressing this afternoon, I noted that the caul of skin has come loose. What's underneath is raw, for want of a less icky word. I called the doctor's office, and they approved Neosporin---which I know I have, but I'm damned it I can find it. Will have to pick up some tomorrow on the way back from my appointment.

One of my early diagnoses was spider-bite---brown recluses are endemic around here---which heasn't been ruled out. To be on the safe side, I'm going to pick up a shitlaod of foggers and bomb the bejesus out of the house and garage this weekend.

And I still need to do laundry....
