First, a retraction: "Winchester" was much less sordid than I expected from its previews. Yes, several characters were made out of whole cloth and the plot in general was meant to interest those who like seeing ghosts (and not just hearing things that go 'bump' in the night)--but there were rational laws governing the manifestations--it was an intelligent person's ghost story, if there can be said to be such a thing.

Afterward came 1st of the month shopping, all of which left me rather wrung-out today. I slept past 1 in the afternoon today, and have spent pretty much all day in a chair in the living room watching SVU (except for the three loads of laundry I've been doing). GK dragged the biggest box in from the shed, from which I've unearthed a number of items I feared were Gone For Good. (And speaking of which, GK says it's the books that have all come inside--there are plenty of plastic tubs left, so my Fiestaware may still surface, along with assorted other little treasures that are currently MIA.)

I'm happy to see a bunch of clothes that I'd nearly forgotten I had, but I'm looking around wild-eyed trying to figure out where the fuck I'm going to PUT it all. Some of it's going to have to go under my bed for a while, because a lot of it is currently two sizes too small. There's no other way, because my closet practically needs a shoehorn to get things into it now. And towels==I really need an over the toilet storage unit, because I dug at least five towels out of the tubs I unpacked the other day. That's bath towels, mind you--dish and hand towels are more like a dozen (although I can get them into the cabinet over the washer and dryer...I swear, I would sell my grandmother for the services of a nice, patient home organizer who would sit with me and listen to my stories while I went through things. We'd spend a week going through every damn thing I own--which is way down from a couple years ago, when going through everything I own would've taken about two months.

More movie reviews will be upcoming, I'm sure, since GK has signed me up for the MoviePass service that lets me see a movie a day...transportation permitting! There's a discount for Costco subscribers, which she is, although the money is coming out of my funds--still, it winds up being like, $5 a month, which means as long as I get to more than one movie, it pays for itself. I think I can manage that! The Costco deal also includes some like of streaming service, which can't hurt, since all I have now is antenna TV.

Love to all!
