It's a wonder I don't have whiplash. After being beastly all week, GK came by on Friday and we had a good, productive couple of hours during which she was perfectly pleasant. Lightbulbs were changed (my balance is too crappy to do it myself), we had lunch and a budget meeting at McDonald's and afterward ran around doing errands--picking up prescriptions, renewing my library card, running by Dr. Bitch's office (My ass I believe that idiot at the front desk when she says she'll give the doctor a message!), and finally to Target, where I picked up an online order, a few groceries, and a beverage from the adjoining Starbucks.
GK brought me a few things--a very nice basket, to go with the grouping on my living room wall and a hanging wall shelf suitable for tchotchkes. (No idea where I'm going to put it, but it's great.) Then, while we were prowling Target, she stunned me by buying me the super-sized Britta filter, the one that makes 18 cups. (As opposed to the 5-cup one I've barely been getting by with.)
Not sure if I've mentioned, but the Bariatric clinic wants me to cease consuming carbonated beverages before surgery, which I've done ever since I finished the last of what I had for my colonoscopy prep. I've been subsisting on herbal tea, portable drink packets, and plain old (filtered) water. Before we left my place, I filled a liter bottle with water, saying to her that I've been SO DAMN GOOD about staying away from soda, and I wasn't about to wreck that at McD's. Apparently, that made a good impression, because she not only got me the jumbo container, she threw in a spare filter. Cue me with my jaw on the floor!
The online order was a shower curtain--I've been stalking it for a while, and snagged it while it was 30% off. Now I have two of them--yes, two identical shower curtains--suitable for curtaining my bedroom closet. I have brackets--now all I need are another set of clear curtain rings and a pipe suitable for use as a rod. Hell, a piece of PVC would work--I have some flat black spray paint that will give it the look of wrought-iron for pennies. And then, tra-la, my bedroom will be more or less camera ready! I'm excited; every time I look at that gaping maw of my closet, I'm annoyed. It's going to be properly concealed,
in style. Curious? It's the Large Medallion shower-curtain black:

I have another visit to the Bariatric Clinic, which probably won't count for much, since my A1C is still an issue, AFIK they're still awaiting reports from the endoscopy and that so-called psych test. Then next weekend, GK and I will be doing floral deliveries for Mother's Day, which will get me a little cash money--always helpful!
The following week is the Royal Wedding--GK is throwing a tea party at OMG a.m.. There's also a quilt show at the fairgrounds, which I'd love to get to. We shall see!
Love to all!
