After weeks of neglect (even she mentioned it!), GK came by this morning. At my request, she brought me two Fillet-o-fish patties (just the fish, not the buns) for my lunch, which hit the spot. We sat around schmoozing for a while--the living room is actually fit for socializing--and  I pointed out that I'd put up a set of curtains over the kitchen sink. They're ancient; I ran across them while doing laundry, and said, "Hmm, better than nothing.". i Imagine my shock/surprise/delight when she subsequently offered to hang the living room curtains...the ones I've had for a year and a half now, that she kept saying she'd hang but never did.

Well, she finally has. Granted, they're up so high that the pretty rod is invisible against the ceiling molding, but they're UP. The navy blue shower curtain that's been covering the space is down, and even though the "new" curtains are perfectly opaque, they're camel-tan, so it's much brighter in there now, which is all to the good.

I'm fixing to get rid of my loveseat. GK knows someone who'll give me $50 for it--that ought to get me a second chair or something--it isn't like I entertain or anything, and if by some chance I have any overnight/out-of-town guests, I GK has a roll-away bed I can borrow. There's an estate sale next week with a daybed, which is a possibility, or a nice little padded bench. Undecided--I need to see them up close and measure them, and of course, see if they're remotely within my budget, because that place looks pretty upscale. (A lot of it is IMO freakin' hideous, much too fussy/traditional, but we'll see.) Mr. GK is away for most of next week, so GK and I have planned for me to stay at her place the night before to facilitate an early start. The sale opens at 7:30, and it's on the far side of town--we need to be prompt, because she has bowling after 9.

Today is the second anniversary of me signing the papers on the place. Hard to believe in some ways--like the fact that my bathroom STILL isn't painted. *eyeroll*  Things are not as organized as I would like--my books, my office, the kitchen...but the last couple weeks have seen me doing little pockets of tidying--the worse of the accumulated laundry, some shuffling around on the porch...the trouble is, stuff migrates without actually going away. Still, I've pitched the lion's share of boxes.

Next week, I'm hoping to get out to the shed for my holiday decor. Would've liked to do it today, but the weather is raw and icky and I wasn't up for it. If I get cracking this week, I can stash some of the excess out there. Better to get rid of it, I suppose. Gah, it never ends!

Love to all!
