My own first-world problems
Oct. 6th, 2019 07:55 am This is the kind of thing that makes me what to beat my brains out against a wall: I spent two days working on a story and managed to accidentally delete the damn thing beyond retrieval. *headdesk* Seven-plus pages. Seven and a half bloody pages of the Avengers dealing with wild animals roaming the grounds of the mansion Tony bought for a West Coast Headquarters. (A few jokes about lions and tigers and bears, oh my. And I managed to select all, type over it, try to reopen it and lost it completely. And I'm sorry, but I don't have the energy to try starting over from scratch.
Although I was pissed off enough about that that I picked what could have been a fight--GK is on my bank account to make sure things get paid and I don't get too crazy. I texted her and said, "Just a heads up. I'm placing an online order and didn't want you to freak out.". I didn't tell her what it was; I was in no mood to start a pointless argument about buying retail.
Surprisingly, she was fairly chill about it, just said OUCH when I told her it would be around $70. It ended up being closer to $72, but I now have a glorious (faux) shearling and suede coat heading my way. I saw it online last week and have been lusting after it ever since. And this week, it has a nice discount--the original price before tax and shipping is $89.99--so I'm feeling pleased with my purchase (although, good grief, the website almost drove me to drink. When I worked for Wilson's Leather (FKA Pelts Leathermore), the website wasn't nearly so persnickety.

Balloon Fiesta Started yesterday...my mind boggles when I remember it's been SIX WHOLE YEARS since I first came to Albuquerque. My whole life has changed, mostly, I think, for the good.
