Today was decent. There was only one caller I really wanted to strangle---a broad on Brand X jeans who placed an order for a size 8, started asking me questions about sizing, CANCELLED THE ORDER BEFORE I COULD HANG UP, and placed another order for a size 10, which she started second-guessing immediately. I managed to get rid of her, but I probably earned some filthy cockroach kharma for the thoughts I had about her ESL status.

Other than that, though, I found out that a Posh Brits order that had been uncertain the last time I checked went through and has shipped. I took a fat Le Snobbi order that went through. And my last two calls of the evening were multi-items orders for Pelts Leathermore. What was cool about those was, the first one was a gal from Staten Island, who gave a billing address that was literally just a couple of blocks from where I grew up---she got two jackets, and the second gal ordered a couple of items that I'd been drooling over all evening, so I got to shop vicariously.

Got undertime to watch Hollywood Babylon, which I enjoyed for the sly whimsy of it all.

My car is now stalling at low idle speeds when the engine is warm, which is annoying. Not sure if that's tied in to the sensor problem or if BC's car guy tweaked it. Paranoid much, me?

Hey, lost one!

I have no idea what has happened. Did your yahoo account die? Anyway, I sent off your birthday present yesterday and I hope it gets there in one piece.
Just scribble stuff on my LJ if you really cannot get to me in any other way.

Christ, that was a GREAT ep.

Oh, shit. I used to have a car that would stall at stoplights. NOT fun.

This is very bizarre---I answered your last post as usual, although I DO recall noticing that it was still going to the tlu.ee address.

And I just answered the note you sent to my Yahoo address, which isn't even ill, as far as I know---I'll been getting the usual kind of mail. (Although Yahoo CAN get screwy.) Let me dig out my last reply and resend it....

Stop lights, and slowing down for turns...I'm hoping I can coax it along until Monday, which is a day off, so I don't have to worry about him getting it done by a certain time.

Yeesh. *crosses fingers for you* I know how annoying that must be, having lived it myself. Yet another reason to be glad I can get by without a car.

OMG!!!! I just got off the phone with a totally WANT TO STRANGLE client, who was dicking around and trying to make me give him permission to rip off the company by sneaking a personal trip into his business travel and getting me to justify it by coming up with a may to make it cheaper and giving me this whole-"Well what's your opionion," routine, and I basically had to go all "I have no opinion," because I was not getting sucked into this shit.

Sorry for hitting you with a rant in your comment box, but I needed to vent and there you were. :)

We must be in some fucked-up phase of the moon, because tonight was just chaos and mayhem...we've lost several people from help desk, and I kept getting clobbered by complicated issues...my handle time was totally for shit, we were fiendishly short-handed to begin with. The calls were coming in back to back, and I thought my head was gonna explode.

So yeah, I understand the need to rant. Feel free!

Just to continue on a theme...I got at call at 555PM from a guy who was stuck in NYC with flights being delayed/canceled due to weather. The thing is we had a major situation getting this guy upgraded, which we did. BUT now I was booking a back up flight for tomorrow morning and he wanted it booked in business cos I couldn't guarantee an upgrade. We just got totally REAMED the other day for booking business class on firm business without an authorization. It's like a total NO-NO and this guy was saying it would be ok and the firm would do it he was getting stuck in NY and would have been up for like two days...blah blah blah. By now it's 630PM, I want to go home and have dinner with the hubby and there's absolutely nobody around to go to for approval.

I wound up bookng it, but I'm really really hoping his flight did take off tonight (with his upgrade) and that he won't use the back up tomorrow and I can void the whole thing on Monday.

My life sucks. (At least my job does.)

I've gotten to the point where if the caller says, I want free shipping!, I go, WTF, it's not MY money---here, have free shipping! (Because the Powers That Be went around and stuck little notes on all our computers saying, Remember, you have the ability to offer "Free Shipping" if you think the situation calls for it.

One of the reasons I do it is because the totally unnecessary quotation marks just PISS ME OFF, punctuation bitch that I am.

Careful! We don't want you labeled as one of those Estonian anarchists, do we?

By now you should've gotten the resent e-mail, two ff.net story alerts, and a pair of virtual handcuffs. (It was either that, or the brain in a jar, which would also have been appropriate.)

I'm SO glad to hear from you!
