Good stuff in the mail

Last night, work was fairly quiet. The drive home was uneventful. I went to bed early-ish (before 3 AM), slept til 10, and still feel dragged out. Bleh. I'm glad tomorrow's Sunday. I'm not even going to set an alarm. If I sleep through church, so be it.
Yesterday's mail was enlivened by an amusing postcard from
dine---she's obviously noticed my penchant for soap opera---not that I actually WATCH soaps, I hasten to add---but observing drama in action stirs up all kinds of plot bunnies. I wish I had a scanner, but I'll try to describe it:
It's a cover of DC Comics Girls' Love Stories #157 (price, 15 cents)---published in February, 1971, according to the blurb on the back.
Banner: Can a girl be faithful when she has...One Husband But Two Loves?
Picture: Distinguished Older Gentleman (so designated by silvering temples) is carrying his Young Bride over the threshold, into a room where Virile Cowboy lounges against a table.
Virile Cowboy: So this is my new stepmother! Welcome home, Mom!
Young Bride (looking shocked): Jeremy!
Heh heh heh. Not that I NEED any more bunnies, but it's definitely up my alley in terms of melodrama. Thanks, Dine!
I think I'm going to take a short nap before I get ready for work....
