I got here (Schnauzerland) about the same time I would've gotten home, despite having driven quite conservatively down A1A. Was much welcomed by the bearded wonders, pitched a fit at the computer because Yahoo was NOT displaying properly and I really, seriously freaking HATE MacIntosh. Screw those Mac/PC commercials, give me my straightforward PC any day!
Got a lovely ficlet from
karaokegal (http://karaokegal.livejournal.com/291014.html), though it will probably mystify anyone unfamiliar with the old Robert Conrad series Black Sheep Squadron.
Lolled in the hot tub before bed. Not the best night's sleep I've ever had. Awoke before 10 AM, left to pick up a few groceries...got sidetracked by a garage sale down the street. I know, my bad! Got a very pretty box full of jewelry (mostly earrings), some sunglasses, a Best of ZZ Top CD, a table runner, some lace doilies and an inspirational print, all for $10---I hardly ever go yard sailing any more, so this was a treat. The inspirational print is for S. It has a tall ship at sea, and it says, "You can't control the wind in your sails, but you can control how your sails are set." or something like that.
Went to Publix, got some basics and some luxuries: bread, ham and soda are basics, but the gruyere cheese and the Klondike bars were definite luxuries!
In a couple hours---IE, NOT the middle of the afternoon---I'm going to go for a walk on the beach. The weather is the prettiest it's been in a week or more, clear and sunny---and hot. High 80s and high humidity, typical at this time of year.
I'll probably play hooky from church tomorrow, hang around til mid-afternoon, then detour by way of the theater and catch The Dark Knight on the way home.
There's nothing like having a plan....
