I'm still on antibiotics, and I'm still getting something like an earache. I feel like I've been hit upside the head with a 2x4. Can't get in to see the doctor until tomorrow---well, technically I COULD, but since he doesn't take checks, I'm SOL. So...I've called out of work, third time in two weeks, oh god, they are going to have FITS...but I've had a surge of domestic productivity.

It's overcast/rainy, therefore not too warm to want to move, and I got a wild hair because I really really wanted to hang those "new" tab top drapes in my dining room. This involved clearing off a chair to sit on while I raked up stuff with a broom and jammed it into one of the bagzilla contractor-sized trash bags.

Understand, my dining room is NOT large, I think it's all of ten by ten. I filled one 55-gallon bagzilla just plowing a path to the sliding glass doors, and the table is still a foot deep in whatnot, surrounded by chairs stacked with more whatnot, some shelves full of tchotchkes, and assorted whatnot scattered in the corners. And that's one small room....

But! The curtains are up, although I'll have to raise the rod a few inches. They're dragging on the floor, and will end up getting as nasty as the old ones, otherwise. Those are earmarked for laundry (gentle cycle, as they're older than I am!) and to be shortened for use in my library-to-be. The new ones are less opaque than I expected---in daylight, the pattern is only visible at the top and where they're hemmed---and they're just sort of...beige. Faintly geometric because of the weave, but I'm sure the pattern will be more obvious after dark.

The truth? I'm kind of underwhelmed, but at least I got something done, right? And now I can turn my attention to some of the whatnot. I'm being very careful, because my back has not been happy with me of late, and telling myself that it's okay to be a tortoise as far as cleaning is concerned, because the hares are all egging me into writing things. (May really does feel like it's been an extraordinarily productive month on the fic front.)

And speaking of fic, I don't rec as often as I probably ought to, but this absolutely blew me away, and if you're a fan of Supernatural, in particular Castiel, John Winchester, the Prophet Chuck or the Apocalyse, GO. NOW. It will be worth it, I promise.

I need lunch....

No, wait---technically, I need breakfast.
